I’m a writer who is passionate about helping people live happier, more fulfilling lives. I have 15 years experience of writing for publications including The Telegraph, Daily Mail, Metro, Cosmopolitan, and The Week. I write regularly for UK wellbeing magazines Breathe and Happiful. I am the author of a parenting book Tears Heal: How to listen to our children. My parenting advice has been featured in The Guardian, Parents.com, and Mother.ly.

I have a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Glasgow, and a Certificate in Creative Writing For Therapeutic Writing from Metanoia Institute.

Since I became a mother I trained as a Hand in Hand parenting instructor which inspired my book Tears Heal.

  1. Hi Kate, what a wonderful blog! Mental Health and creativity go hand in hand. I use basic creative writing quite a bit in my Wellness Groups at a private Psychiatric Ward – it opens things up so very nicely 🙂 To me that’s very important, as conventional psych treatments very often kill the creative spark in people. My ‘first draft’ tutor also runs a creative writing course as a recovery tool for out patients. Keep up the good work.
